Stop waiting. Start doing. It might be scary but let me tell you why it's worth it...
Hi Reader,
It's me - Aimée Rebecca - your internet bestie for all things personal development, intentional living and dream-chasing.
And this is a story you might need to hear today.
When I turned 30, I made a deal with myself—every year, I’d do one thing that absolutely scared the pants off me.
In 2022, it was publishing a book about healing after heartbreak and emotional abuse.
In 2023, it was hurling myself out of an airplane.
In 2024, it was entering a beauty pageant.
And honestly, free-falling from 15,000ft was significantly less scary than entering a beauty pageant.
I mean, that’s the kind of thing other girls do. Girls who are confident, poised, and have the kind of unwavering self-belief that enables them to get up on stage and own it. Girls who don’t care what other people think. Girls who unashamedly go after their dreams and aren’t afraid to fail in front of a crowd.
The kind of girl I deep down really wanted to be.
So, I signed up for Ms. Galaxy and spent the next few months wracked with anxiety.
If I can do this, I can do anything. And if I can do it without throwing up all over myself, I’m a stronger woman than I thought.
But something unexpected happened… I loved it. 😍
By the time I left at the end of pageant weekend, I was totally transformed. That sounds wildly cheesy, but it’s true. I pushed past my social anxiety and talked to strangers. I walked on stage in a bikini in front of a crowd! I threw myself in at the deep end and realized I’m a much stronger swimmer than I thought.
So many people have told me since, "I wish I had the confidence to do something like that." And the honest truth is, I didn’t! I didn’t have the confidence. I gained that confidence by hurling myself out of my comfort zone and learning in real-time just how capable I was.
So often, we play a waiting game: "I’ll do X when I’m confident enough." "Smart enough." "Experienced enough." "Skinny enough." "Good enough."
And I am here right now to tell you that you are enough, right now, just as you are! Stop waiting. Do the thing! Even if it's scary. Even if you think you might throw up all over yourself.
✨You don’t know what’s waiting on the other side of your comfort zone.✨
For me, it was unforgettable memories, new friendships, and an unwavering belief in myself that I didn’t have before.
This year, I went back to Galaxy and placed in the Top 10. But more importantly, this year I turned up as someone who believedshe belonged there.
my reaction to being called into the Top 10
I share this because I know how easy it is to sit on the sidelines of your own life. To let fear make the decisions. To tell yourself you’ll try when you feel more confident or more qualified. But confidence doesn’t come before you take the leap. It comes because you did.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to say YES to that thing that scares you a little (or a lot)… this is it.
What’s one thing you’ve been putting off because you’re waiting for the "right" moment to feel ready? How can you start now, even in small ways, to step out of your comfort zone?

Ice latte season has officially returned! ☀️ I’m still obsessed with the iced brown sugar oat shaken espresso, but I’m taking recommendations if you’ve got any good ones!
I’ve been working in the garden this week because the sun’s out and the birds are singing. It’s crazy how much a little bit of sunshine can lift your mood.
